Asphalt shingles only
Let's start with the limits. Rejuvenation is made for asphalt shingles. It doesn't work on metal, tile, slate, flat or membrane roofs.
Plenty of smaller churches, offices and shops have shingle roofs on at least part of the building. A sanctuary might have a steep shingle roof while a newer wing has a flat one. In that case, we can look at the shingle sections and leave the rest to the right trade.
The budget conversation
A replacement is a big capital ask for a congregation or a small business owner. Around Asheboro, even a house-sized roof often runs $20,000 to $25,000 or more to replace. Bigger buildings run higher.
A treatment usually costs around 20% of replacement, and it's priced by square footage. For a finance committee, that's a much easier number to plan around. Get the assessment done before your next budget cycle, so the committee works from real numbers. Each treatment comes with a 5-year transferable warranty, and we give you the written terms before work starts. It can also be repeated every 5 years, for up to about 15 extra years total. See how pricing works on the cost page.
Scheduling around services and business hours
- 01Assessment on a weekday
We can come during the week, so nothing interrupts worship or customers. Book it on the free roof assessment page.
- 02Tune-up, then treatment
Loose shingles, nail pops and flashing get handled before the treatment goes on.
- 03Fast dry times
In mild, dry weather the treatment is tack free in about 30 minutes, ready for foot traffic in about an hour, and fully cured in 1 to 2 hours.
- 04Planned around your calendar
Larger buildings take longer than a house. We'll set the work days around your services, events or business hours.
Safe around people and grounds
Churches often have kids, gardens and memorial grounds. Businesses have customers walking in the front door. Here's what you should know about the product:
- It's made from soybean oil and is biodegradable
- It's pH neutral with little to no odor
- It has no flash point, so it doesn't burn as a liquid
- It carries 96% certified biobased content under USDA BioPreferred
There's no tear-off, so there's no dumpster in the parking lot and no old shingles headed to the landfill. Read more about the soy-based roof treatment.
Some church and commercial roofs are simply worn out. If yours is, we'll say so plainly. Spending money on a treatment that can't help isn't good stewardship.
Common questions
How much does a church roof replacement cost compared to rejuvenation?
Replacement cost depends on the building's size and pitch. For a sense of scale, a house-sized roof around Asheboro often runs $20,000 to $25,000 or more to replace. Rejuvenation usually costs around 20% of replacement. The instant roof estimate gives you a starting range.
Can you treat a church roof without disrupting services?
The work can be scheduled on weekdays, away from services. The treatment goes on in hours. In mild, dry weather it's ready for foot traffic in about an hour, so Sunday stays clear.
Do you treat flat commercial roofs?
No. Rejuvenation is for asphalt shingles only. Flat, membrane, metal, tile and slate roofs aren't candidates. If your building has a mix, we can assess the shingle sections and tell you what qualifies.
Will treatment affect our existing roof warranty?
That depends on the shingle maker's terms. Pull out the warranty paperwork from when the roof went on, or call the manufacturer before treatment. If you can't find it, ask whoever installed the roof. See does roof rejuvenation void my shingle warranty.
