Why every job starts with a look
Rejuvenation works on asphalt shingles that are aging but still sound. Some roofs are great candidates and some are too far gone. You can't tell which from the driveway.
That's why every Roof Armor job starts with a free assessment, and the owner does every one himself. You won't meet a salesperson. Want a head start? Read is my roof a candidate first.
What we check on your roof
This is the list we work through on every roof.
- 01Granule loss
We look at how much of the granule layer is left. We also check gutters and downspouts, where shed granules pile up. Learn more about granule loss.
- 02Flexibility
Dry shingles turn brittle. We do a gentle bend test to see if a shingle still flexes or starts to crack.
- 03Flashing
We check the seals around chimneys, walls and vents. Sealant often gives out before the shingles do, so flashing resealing is part of the tune-up.
- 04Nail pops and lifted shingles
We note nails backing out and shingles that lost their seal. Those get fixed in the tune-up before any treatment.
- 05Soft spots and decking
We watch for areas that feel spongy or sag. That can mean decking trouble, and rejuvenation can't fix decking. If we find it, you'll hear about it.
- 06Curling, cracks and streaks
We note curled or cracked shingles and black algae streaks. The treatment doesn't remove algae, so a streaked roof may need cleaning first.
How long it takes
Size and shape matter. A one-story ranch goes faster than a steep two-story with dormers and valleys. If you're home, we can talk it over before we leave.
What you get
Rejuvenation fits, or it doesn't. We'll tell you which one and why.
We walk you through what we found on your roof, from the granules to the flashing and any trouble spots.
If your roof is a candidate, you get a price for the treatment with the tune-up included. It's based on your roof's square footage.
If your roof needs more than we do, we'll say so plainly. Roof Armor does rejuvenation and tune-ups, so a new roof puts nothing in our pocket.
Should you book one?
Worth booking when
- You have asphalt shingles, architectural or 3-tab
- You're finding granules in your gutters
- The roof looks faded or dry but isn't leaking
- You got a replacement quote and want a second opinion
- Your insurance agent asked about your roof's condition
Probably not a fit when
- Your roof is metal, tile, slate or flat
- Many shingles are missing or torn off
- The decking feels soft or the roof sags
- You have fresh storm damage (call your insurance first)
- Shingles are crumbling or badly curled across the roof
What happens after you send the form
- 01We reach out
We'll contact you to set a time for the assessment.
- 02We assess the roof
We work through the checklist above.
- 03You get our answer
We tell you if rejuvenation fits, what the tune-up will cover, and what it costs.
- 04You decide
Take your time. You'll know the price before any work starts. Each treatment comes with a 5-year transferable warranty, and we give you the written terms before work starts. Here's how it works from there.
A free assessment is just that. You're under no obligation to buy, and we won't treat a roof that isn't a good candidate.
Common questions
Is the roof assessment really free?
Yes. There's no cost and no obligation. We check your roof, tell you what we found, and give you a price if rejuvenation fits. If it doesn't fit, you'll hear that too. You don't owe anything either way.
Can a roof assessment help with my insurance company?
It can help you understand your roof's condition before you talk to your agent. Some NC carriers look hard at aging roofs at renewal. A documented tune-up and treatment can help, but no one can promise an outcome. Read more on insurance and roof age.
What areas do you cover for free roof assessments?
Homes within roughly 40 miles of Asheboro. That includes Randleman, Ramseur, Seagrove, Liberty, Archdale, Trinity and Greensboro. Nearby towns may be in range too, so call if you're not sure. See the full list on the service areas page.
