How the years add up
Think of it as a schedule you can stop at any point.
- 01First treatment
Done on a roof that's aging but sound. It adds up to about 5 years.
- 02Around year 5
We look at the roof again. If it still qualifies, a second treatment adds up to about 5 more.
- 03Around year 10
A third round can add up to about 5 more. That's up to about 15 extra years in all.
- 04Past that
Every roof wears out at some point. When yours gets there, we'll say so.
What makes it last longer or shorter
Two roofs treated on the same day won't age at the same pace. A few things move the number:
- How dry the shingles were. A roof treated early has more to work with than one that's nearly worn out.
- Sun. South and west faces take the hardest sun in a Piedmont summer.
- Attic heat. A hot, poorly vented attic bakes shingles from below.
- Shade. Pine and oak shade keeps some faces cooler, but damper.
- Storms. Hail and wind can damage any roof, treated or not.

The warranty that comes with it
Each treatment comes with a 5-year transferable warranty, and we give you the written terms before work starts. More is on our warranty page, and the selling side is covered on selling a home with an older roof.
Treatment doesn't change your roof's install date, and some insurance companies go by that date. See will my insurance company accept a rejuvenated roof before you plan around it.
More questions
When is the best time to rejuvenate a roof?
Earlier is better. A roof that's just starting to fade and shed granules has the most life left to protect. Once shingles crack or curl badly, there's less to save. See how old is too old for roof rejuvenation for the signs.
Do I have to retreat my roof every 5 years?
No, that's your call. Each treatment comes with a 5-year transferable warranty, so year 5 is a natural time to have the roof checked again. If it still qualifies, another treatment can add up to about 5 more years.
