Why a spray can't fix a leak
A leak means water already has a path through the roof. That path might be a missing shingle, a cracked boot around a vent pipe, failed flashing at a chimney or rotted decking. A treatment that soaks into shingles doesn't close any of those.
Rejuvenation works on the shingle itself. It's made to bring back flexibility and help granules stay put. That helps a sound roof stay sound. It doesn't patch holes. The best time for it is before the first drip, while your roof is still a good candidate.
What the tune-up fixes, and what's bigger
The tune-up handles
- Loose shingles that need securing
- Flashing seals at chimneys, walls and vents that need re-sealing
- Nail pops pushing up under shingles
- Small trouble spots found during the assessment
Bigger than a tune-up
- Soft or rotted decking
- Large sections of missing shingles
- Storm damage waiting on an insurance claim
- Shingles worn through to the mat
- Water stains spreading across a ceiling
If your roof is leaking right now
- 01Catch the water
Put a bucket under the drip and move anything that could get ruined.
- 02Take photos
Note where the stain is in the ceiling or attic and take pictures. It helps whoever tracks down the source.
- 03Call your insurance company if a storm caused it
Storm damage is an insurance matter first. Talk to your agent before any work starts.
- 04Book an assessment
We can check whether the cause is something the tune-up covers, like a nail pop or a flashing seal. If it's bigger than that, we'll say so. Start with a free roof assessment.
Dry, brittle shingles crack, and cracks let water in. Catching a roof while the shingles still bend gives treatment the most to work with.
More questions
Can I rejuvenate my roof after a leak is repaired?
Yes, if the rest of the roof is still sound. Once the leak source is fixed and the decking is solid, an aging roof can still be a good candidate. We check this during the free assessment.
Should a leak be fixed before treatment?
Yes. Any active leak gets found and fixed first. Spraying over a leak would only hide a problem that keeps growing under the shingles. Our roof tune-up covers the small fixes.
